The Knights will open up their 2014 season by traveling to Spring Valley for the third year in a row to take on the Hawks. The Knights have added a number of bats to their lineup this year but hope to rely on team veterans this early in the season.
The Knights were hit 5 times last year in their opener with Spring Valley. Starting outfielder Dan Piilola was asked about his thoughts on getting hit numerous times so early in the season. "I'm fine by it. Whatever gets me to first base. Actually, part of my contract with the Knights pays me per Hit-By-Pitch and I've got kids to feed...so no pitcher is going to win that inside half of the plate with me in the lineup."
First pitch is Saturday, April 26th, 11:00am at Spring Valley field. It is a double header where the Knights will play game 2 against the Tony Hayshakers who they have never faced before.
