TJ Mayer placed on 15-day Disabled List

The Knights have chosen to place starting center fielder and relief pitcher TJ Mayer on the 15-day disabled list with an elbow injury sustained in a hot tub accident.

Mayer was injured during a team spring training workout in Dillon, Colorado. According to team reports, Mayer was headed to one of the facility hot tubs after a long team workout when he was attacked by a local Yeti. Yeti's are native to the area, but rarely seen out in the open. Less than 100 are seen in the area annually.

While trying to fend off the wild Yeti, Mayer reportedly fell and injured his throwing elbow. After seeing a team doctor, Mayer was recommended to get stitches but instead elected to use mass amounts of bandages and 2 Ginger whiskey.

The Knights have elected to recall Sergio Romo from Triple-A while Mayer is rehabbing.
