The Metro Knights travel to Spring Valley, Wisconsin for their season opener on Sunday to face the Hawks whom they faced twice in 2011 in a double header. In 2011, the Knights took both games (12-8, 2-1) racking up twenty six hits between both games which included five doubles, two home runs, and fourteen runs.

With an almost brand new pitching staff this year, The Knights are looking to their rookies to build some momentum early in the season. Christian Zellner is expected to get the start on the mound. In his first outing of the year he faced seven batters. Six were met with Ks, while one was spared with a walk.

The Metro Knights move to 1-0 on the season defeating a tough Spring Valley Hawks team in extra innings 11-6. The game would end in the 10th inning where the Knights showed some clutch hitting putting up two runs with one out before Dan Piilola put the game out of reach with a two-out 3 run home run. Adam King would get the win in the game.
