The 4-4 Knights host the New Hope Athletics at 7:30pm this Tuesday at White Bear Township. The Athletics are a new Class-A baseball team who play out of the Riverview league. Ricky Caldecott is scheduled to make his triumphant return to the mound after taking a year off from the Skyline league to play in South Korea. During his season playing over seas, Ricky spent time studying pitches not common in the western world and will showcase a pitch her learned from a 149 year old Buddhist monk called "Seungni Samjin".
Someone call the cops - someone stole our strike zone
The Knights hosted the New Hope Athletics where they would go into the 9th inning with a 3 run lead and with a pitcher heading out to his 4th inning where in his previous 3 innings he did not allow a hit. After getting the lead-off batter to strike out, the next handful of batters would suddenly gain the luxury of a strike zone that didn't exist. The Knights at multiple times would start walking off the field thinking their pitcher had struck out the last batter to end the game only to be fooled and have the game extended. Credit to the Athletics who clearly took advantage of the situation and made a great come back win. Tough loss - but you have to look at the positives in a game like this.
