The Knights host the very talented Stockmen's Irish this Friday, July 18th at 8:00pm. The Knights hope to find a way to wake up their bats and play smarter in the field. Defense has been a major issue with the Knights over the past week. Knights Manager, Frank Matteson, was quoted Wednesday night saying "If we don't start playing better defense and making better decisions both in the field and at the plate, we won't ever have a chance in any game against any team.". Knights GM, Ryan Meehan also gave us a statement regarding the teams current season low point, "I think our issue is guys thinking too much. No one is playing baseball. There's no confidence out there at all". The Knights are looking to find signs off life before the playoffs start in two weeks.
In unrelated news, Knights General Manager Ryan Meehan has been rumored to have been seen having lunch with Brewers owner Mark Attanasio. Rumors are spreading that Meehan has recently applied to become the Brewers new GM due to speculation that Doug Melvin might be let go if the Brewers do not make the playoffs this year. When asked about the alleged meeting between the two, Attanasio quipped "I like Ryan’s managerial style. I met him back in 2008 when we both attended Summerfest in Milwaukee. We've had a great business relationship ever since. I think he's done a fine job this year with the Minnesota Metro Knights. He's got a great future in baseball management....or in the Republican National Party."
